SOLD LOCALLY
This is a super-playable, killer sounding Fender Precision from the mid-70s. I think it's a 1975 from the headstock logo but it could maybe be an early 1976, I guess. It has the very rare and very much in-demand A-neck -- this one is just under 1.5" at the nut!!!!!
Bass is light weight (right about 9 lbs -- exceptional for this time period). Finish is the very cool mocha/chocolate, in excellent shape on the front, a bit scuffed on the back from belt buckle rash. See the pix.
Neck is great, nice low action, very playable. Frets have some wear, to be expected from a bass that's 35 years old. Plenty of meat left on them.
It does have a few small modifications. It has a brass nut and a non-original pickguard (with an extra hole). It now has a Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-2 high-output pickup in it (the pup in the pix is some no-name one I removed). It has a late 70s/early 80s Fender molded case, in good shape.
Basses in perfect shape from this era can get into $1800-2000 and more pretty easily. This is a pretty easy restoration project, but I don't really have time for it as my gigging schedule is gonna start to hop in the next few weeks.
Given the mods, I'm asking $1400 shipped in Lower 48. Will consider offers. As for trades, really interested in US Laklands, pre-1980 Fenders, Gibsons, Guilds, and US made EB/MM Stingrays. No pointy or coffee table basses, no cabs or amps and nothing more than 5 strings (and I prefer 4...) I can add cash for the right deal.
Click on the small pix for bigger ones.
