Killer bass- best playing Spector I have ever owned. My gripe? I just use the J pickup a ton on my NS-2's and so this isn't quite what I need- that said I still will miss it when/if its gone.
Walnut body wings maple neck through old bad ass bridge, EMG P Haz Lab board. Bass sits in the mix like a grindy stingray on steri wods...if want a HUGE driving rock tone this is it....its very clear and offers a wide range of tone from clear high end to rolled off lows...and the preamp can be disengaged for a sublter classic P tone. No structural issues with the bass, frets are good, truss works both ways, action is nice a low and comfy bass is also prettty light weight- lighter than my NS-2's I'd guess in the 7-8lb range. If it had a j in bridge it problay go to my grave with me its that nice of a bass.
There is some heavy checking on the back of the neck- it looks like someone opened a case too quick in the warm from the cold- but given its nearly a 30 year old instrument I am not to troubled by this
