Re-list with PRICE DROP
Up for sale now is my Warmoth Gecko "Medium" 5-string. This bass dates back to about 2006 or so and has been owned by a couple TBers in the past. It features:
-Swamp ash body in transparent brown
-Rosewood top
-Clear gloss body finish
-Satin nitro neck finish
-Active EMG pickups
-EMG BQC 3-band preamp
-Burled/birdseye maple neck & headstock, purpleheart laminates
-Pau ferro fretboard (very nice grain) w/ black wood Gecko inlay
-Gold hardware and Warmoth logo
-Kahler bridge, approx 19 mm string spacing at saddles
No strings, but I can throw in a 4-string set of brand new "Naked Strings" (45-65-85-105) and you can pick up a matching low B for cheap from their website,
http://www.nakedstrings.com
Preamp and jack are not installed but will be included. Installation should be about $30-$40 tops or if you're handy, you can do it yourself (I'm the opposite of handy.)
This bass new would be about $1500 if you constructed it from Warmoth's website and then added the EMG electronics.
I'll take:
$650 or best offer shipped lower 48 USA in a
Musician's Friend vintage hardcase $600 or best offer shipped lower 48
without the case.
If you don't want the preamp, subtract $50 from either of the above prices and I will just sell it separately.
Willing to do overseas but only if you pay actual shipping and don't mind the bass arriving in two pieces. This bass needs to go because
G.A.S. is killing me!
Cash is king but I will CONSIDER anything in trade - particularly the following (plus or minus cash where applicable):
-G&L L2000 (older model preferred but open to anything) with
heavily-figured
birdseye maple neck AND fretboard.
-Custom basses, esp. neck-through 5ers - will consider set-neck or neck-through 4 or 5-string basses. I like basses made of exotic woods (macassar ebony, bubinga, purpleheart, bloodwood, pau ferro, kingwood, ziricote, birdseye maple, padouk, bocote, ipe, etc etc) especially fretboards.
-Run
anything by me - the worst I can say is "no thanks."
Pics below... I have a few more on my hard-drive - just e-mail me if you want to see them.
