Got this one used a few months ago, decent bass for the price, but last week was nbd and this one needs a little work, so it's gotta go. Overall its in great shape, not a scratch on the body, not even pick marks. Theres one small ding on the back of the neck at about the 8th fret, and the fretboard under the last three frets are slightly dinged (see photo below). Both of these dings are extremely minor and doesn't affect playability at all. Also, the batteries die very quickly, which I'm sure is a quick fix for someone who knows electronics (I don't and don't want to invest any time or money in a bass that I'm not gonna play much anyway). With that in mind, I'd like to get $275 shipped con us or make me a cash/trade offer, I'm all ears.
It's a trans dark chocolate active chinese model. MEC jazz pups which sound very good when the battery is actually charged. Weighs in at about 10 pounds via bathroom scale, strings are just about new (I don't know what kind but they feel and sound like d'addarios). Just had a professional setup last month, action is medium-low. |

It has the height adjustable nut, so you can get a good setup with heavier strings too if need be. I'm impressed with the MEC pickups, the preamp aint too bad, the battery issue is the only problem. I'm sure its a quick fix for someone who knows wiring and what not. |

Some RockBasses were recently shipped from Dana B. Goods with a minor wiring miscue. Basically, the wires leading to the jack on the bass were wired in such a way that the battery running the active electronics was always on, causing the battery to drain very quickly. The basses with this problem play and sound fine, but they eat batteries like your drummer at the green room buffet table. The basses which potentially have this problem were shipped to dealers between September 10 and November 9, 2006. There are 5 models involved: Corvette Basic 4-string in blue or white, Corvette Basic 5-string in black, Corvette Classic 4-string, and Corvette Classic 4-string Fretless.
Luckily the fix is very easy, it will take longer for your soldering iron to heat up than to fix it. Any one with any knowledge of soldering should be able to switch the wires in less than a minute once the iron is hot.On the affected basses, the Black lead from the battery and the ground (shield) wire are reversed on the output jack. There are three solder lugs on the jack: Short, Medium, and Long. The white signal wire always goes to the short lug. The black battery lead goes to the medium lug. The shield (the outer conductor on the white signal wire) goes to the long lug. The miswired basses have the black and shield wires reversed. |
