FS/FT XOTiC XJ-1T5

TRADED!
It was hand picked by the guys for me. My foremost requirement was in a focused B string and that's what you'll get.
Weight was secondary to me, the neoprene Comfort Strapp I'm including makes 10 lbs a non issue ( for me anyway). I would not change a thing.
$2100 shipped lower 48 PayPal accepted. Price is firm.

Trade considered for other 5'ers with 1 3/4" nut.

Here's the deets again-

This beautiful bass is 9.9 new condition w/ nice Xotic gig bag (like a deluxe Contego). Serial # 402 has the optional HRI hum cancelling circuit installed ($300 option) and includes an extra pickguard ($60).
Xotic single coil pickups and SILENT single coil sound. Ebony pickup covers are a nice touch and have a scoop on one end for your thumb to rest.
The Xotic design pre amp is the most musical I've ever used. You can boost away and still get a pleasant sound instead of over the top exaggerated tones.

Volume -active / passive push / pull
Blend
Passive tone
3 band eq
1 high shift switch
1 mid shift switch

The 34" scale neck is oil rub finished and feels great. 19mm spacing and nut width just under 1 7/8". Fret work, nut, pocket fit all excellent. Strong B string, speaks with authority and solid all around. The fretboard and side inlays glow in the dark, they are quite bright, another nice little touch. 10 1/4 lbs.

Current list is $3600 + $360 in add-ons

Check her out....

TB'ers, this bass is killin'! Maybe I should be using more exclamation points in my posts

Of all the Jazz-y 5'ers I have owned this EXOTiC reigns supreme. Lot's of YouTube demos out there, don't take my word for it.

Although the Tri-Logic preamp is the secret here, the passive sound is the true voice. The rest is gravy. Delicious gravy. XOTiC used Fralin's until very recently switching to their own pickups. I have not A-B'ed the 2, maybe Jauqo can comment.
I'm not a slapping guy, but the Mid and Treble freq select mini toggles would be handy for instant tone shift.

I am coming to the conclusion that the Jazz bass format is not going to do it for me, otherwise I would be keeping it. I've fallen for a Bongo of all things (yeah, I was surprised too) so my little 5 string world has been rocked.

So talk to me about this bass if you are interested in the brand, I am happy to ramble on about them.

I've been playing Xotic J bases for over three years and I'm digging them more and more as I play them as they age.

I own a 4 and a 5 string Xotic J bass. The 4 string has an ash body with a maple fb and the 5 string has an alder body with a rosewood fb and those two basses cover a lot of tonal ground.

Emblymouse has Xotic single coils in his bass (I have Lindy Fralin in mine) and I have played my share of Xotic J basses with the Xotic single coils and they really do shine.

Aside from overall top notch quality the Xotic has one of the most, i repeat most versatile on board preamps on the market today. The EWS Trilogic out board bass pre is the very same pre that is in the Xotic J basses. If any of you have a passive J bass or P bass and you can try out the EWS Trilogic pre, definitely give it a spin and if nothing else it will give you at least the basics of why the Xotic J basses are so versatile.

I use extremely light gauge strings and the audience and the people who higher me have no clue because the basses overall tonal output is solid.

The bass in my avatar is similar to the bass Emblymouse is selling (same pre, different pickups) and it kills with 110, 080, 060, 040, 030 gauge strings.

Xotic endorser.

Thank you sir for your insight. These are beautiful and unique instruments among the Jazz clones out there.
I'll continue using it down tuned for a new band I'm in. Please contact me by PM with any offers or questions.

This is a really good price for this instrument. For those of you on the fence you should definitely pull the trigger you'll be happy you did.

I had this happen to me in another thread yesterday, for some reason. I cleared my browser's cache, reloaded the page, and then I could see the photos. Maybe that will help.
