FS/FT - 2009 YAMAHA BB3000 REISSUE

Sign in to disble this ad
I really like this bass, but have had a hard time getting used to the chunky P style neck.

FOR SALE PRICE:
I would like to get $1700.00 shipped in CONUS.

TRADES:
I'm open to trades, so let me know what you have. I'll be willing to trade up/down +/- cash as needed. I'm particularly interested in P/J config, but open to just about anything.

CONDITION:
Aside from some swirls in the finish from playing (nothing deep or gouged, see pic), this bass is in MINT CONDITION. I played it out at one gig and otherwise, it's pretty much been in the case.

SPECS:
4 String, 21 Frets
33 7/8" Scale (860 mm)
Alder Body
Neck-Thru (5 piece Maple/Mahogany/Maple/Mahogany/Maple)
Ebony Fingerboard (10" radius)
Brass Nut (P width-ish, so about 1.75")
P/J P-Ups (Alnico)
Volume/Tone/3 way Toggle (P/J/Both)
About 9Lbs
Gold Hardware and P-Up surrounds
Only 40 handmade in Japan
Includes OHSC
EDIT: I called Yammy support and confirmed it was made in May of 2009.

PICS:
These are the originals from where I purchased it.

WOW!!!

I always thought the BB3000 was VVT and the BB2000 had VT and a toggle switch.

I've seen original 80's models like that but all of the reissues I've seen have the toggle. Same for the newer BB series IIRC.

Great question, Coelho. Honestly, I'm not quite sure... As far as I can see on the serial it may have been produced this year (but that is only speculation). It is not a vintage model, it is definitely a reissue. FWIW, I bought it new about a month ago.

I know that is a pretty crummy answer, so I'll dig a little deeper to see if I can confirm when it was made.

As the owner of a BB2024 (different animal, I know), I HIGHLY recommend this bass if you have the means. You WILL NOT be sorry.

Actually, the BB3000 AND the BB2000 are both configured with VT and toggle as you see here.

It is the BB3000s that has the VVT.

Man, do I ever like those BB series Yamahas!

.

Thanks for clearing that up! I really wish they would re-issue the "S"! VVT/Toggle/Whatever, I just want one!
