FS: G&L BABP L-1000 reissue

Look! It's the yoyo bass ad - it's up! it's down! it's back up! and so on and so forth. And now it's back up.

This is one of the recent reissue L-1000s - the classic design and controls (parallel/single coil/OMG switch along with volume, treble cut and bass cut knobs) with modern construction techniques. The body is alder with tobacco burst finish and the neck is a slim #8 (1.5" nut width, 12" fretboard radius) with a satin finish.

It's nice and light at 8.8 lbs and a joy to play. The best way I can think of to describe OMG mode (more accurately single coil with bass boost) is that if a normal P-bass is Bruce Banner then an L-1000 in OMG mode is the Hulk. Parallel has more edge and presence, single coil slices & dices and OMG is a sledgehammer.

Hard case included. The reason I'm selling is I've overbought and fiscal responsibility says something has to give and this is the one.

$995 shipped in the contiguous 48, paypal OK

Although paying down gear debt is my primary goal I would consider working a trade for:

G&L Tribute JB2
G&L SB-1
G&L SB-2

Any would have to have 1.5" nut width, satin neck and weigh 8.75lbs or less

Craig, that is making me drool! Do you want to trade for my old '81 L1K? Although I think the neck & weight might be a dealbreaker, she weighs almost 11 pounds...

11 lbs

Yeah I'm a stickler for 1.5" nut width and for whatever reason I like the L2K better than the L1K (probably series works for my ears better than OMG mode). If I were going to have an L1K this one would be it.

I also wanna build some fEarfuls but am strapped for gear funds so I'm hoping to sell outright or "trade down" and get some funds out of it.

"fiscal responsibility" --- two words that are (unfortunately) the antidote to my G.A.S. pains -----and THIS bass brings on an attack!

You know, having sold the fretless I don't have to sell this one . . . locking it down for now
