<<FS: G&L BABP LE2500K Un-Dotted Maple Fretboard and Single Coil Option>>

Sign in to disble this ad
These basses were specially built for the BABP Forum and this one plays and looks outstanding.

It is in great condition with some surface swirls and a few small scratches on the back that were there back when I traded a 2008 Fender J5 plus $$ and paid for shipping for both basses with jmattis here on TB.

I've played it several gigs after I had it set up at Elderly Instruments and it's ready to be played by it's new master.

2008 G&L BABP Limited Edition L2500K. I believe these are limited to one of maybe 23 made. I got that information from Chef in a PM a while back but I can't verify it with G&L.

I traded for this one because of the unmarked maple board and the limited/beautiful nature of the bass. The body is Blackburst over ash, beautiful with no fret dots. (has side markers) It has a Maple fret board I think all 2500's are 12" radius maple necks. Weight is 9.9 on the bathroom digital scale.

The single coil option adds a Jazz bass sound and with the pre amp on, it's a "Super Jazz" sound. It also has the zillion other G&L2500 tones so it covers about anything.

As I'm trying to down size my arsenal I am moving to a P for this hot band that I got picked up by(for the P bass look). In true Frank fashion I have already bought two Ps so I want to sell this one before my wife leaves me.

It has some small scratches/pick marks and a couple of tiny marks yet you would have to inspect it to see anything. If the sun is out tomorrow I will take a few shots of the imperfections.

Also, I've had several people inquire that haven't played a L2500 before and I think it's always best to try one before you buy one. Try a USA model because I believe the imports may have a different radius? (not sure)

Controls Layout:

A) Knobs front to back
1) vol 2) treble 3) bass

B)Switches front to back
1) pickup selector: neck/both/bridge
2) coil tap: single coil, dual coil parallel, dual coil series
3) preamp: off/on/on+treble boost

$1099 plus insured FedEx ground shipping to the 48

Sorry no trades at this time.

Yup... want this bass but hate being poor at the moment. Insurance is sending me a diminished value claim though since my car got hit by another driver.. I hope this is still available then.

Sorry, I may have described it incorrectly. It's fretted with no fret dots. Markers are on the side so I should have said undotted?

I'm not sure but I am sure that of the L2500's this is the best playing and most versatile one. The L2500 can be thunderous which is great, yet with the maple neck and the K option there is a whole other word of sound at your fingers.

FWIW: I actually hate every new bass and amp/cab when I first get them, it takes me a few times to get into the new relationship and I check out every little pimple before I settle in to what it's for, to be played (I'm sure others are like that, after all you spent your hard earned $$ etc.) With this bass the bonding curve was shorter than any other bass.

I totally get this. I had a 55-02 and an L-2500. I was looking to trade the G&L because I liked the Lakland that much. An opportunity came up and I traded the Lakland and kept the G&L. I'm convinced I made the correct decision. I would love to have a fretless L-2500 now.

Bass is sold and headed to Ohio.

I hate that people were racing to get the funds to buy this bass as I wish everyone who wanted it could have it.

Thanks for all the inquiries and remember my motto, "There's always another one."
