FS: G&L L-1000 Fretless early to mid 80's bass

This G&L L-1000 is in pretty nice shape, there are a couple of dings in it and there is one chip about the size of a pencil eraser on the edge of the body. There is alsosome small scuffing on the fingerboard from the strings but it is minimal. I am probably making this bass sound terrible, but the truth is the bass is in good condition and will mak someone very happy. Most of what you see in the pics is glare from the room and the overhead lights, if the rain ever decides to let up I will take some better pics outside and post them.

The bass sounds great and plays like a champ, I just cannot get comfortable with fretless basses. I have tried and tried and it just doesn't happen.

I went through the bass from top to bottom and everything is in perfect working order. I cleaned the pots, conditioned the fingerboard and cleaned the bridge. The bass comes with a non-original HSC, the case is pretty rough but is works.

I am asking $650.00 for this bass, it is time to liquidate and make some room in the house. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Truss rod turns in both directions and there is plenty of turns left for any needed adjustments in either direction. I just adjusted the neck and it is straight as an arrow, the bullet is not stripped and there are no signs of stripping.

The bass is not too heavy, I am very particular about the basses I buy...if they are over 9 pounds I pass on them.

I do not have an actual digital scale, so I have to use a bathroom scale...this bass is in the 8.5 to 9 range. Hope this helps.

Not sure, I need to pull the neck off of the body and look at the neck pocket. This will also help determine the year...I will get the info posted up ASAP.

Please buy this bass...

I really debated posting the REAL reason for selling the basses I have posted over the last few days....

Not looking for sympathy here, the proceeds from the sale of this bass are going to a friend. He has been unable to work due to the fact his wife has terminal cancer, from what I understand she has a very short time left with us. They have a wonderful daughter that is just an emotional wreck right now.

I appreciate the trade offers that have been made but I need cash, also the price listed is what I need to sell it for, that is the rock bottom price. If anyone out there is on the fence about it, please buy it...you would be getting a killer bass and in the process helping out some wonderful people.
