FS: G&L L-2000 w/ #8 neck

Up for sale is a really nice fairly recent G&L L-2000 in near-mint condition. I looked but honestly could not find a mark on it. Upgrades are the #8 neck (1 1/2" at the nut) and natural body binding. Everything works just as it should. This bass has seen little use - turns out I prefer the early '80s neck profile. Comes with the standard G&L molded case.

Sorry about the sub-par photos. I might be able to produce better ones for interested folks but these black basses really strain my crappy photographic skills.

$850 shipped CONUS

Upon further inspection I did find a very small indentation on the back of the neck at the 2nd fret. Has to be held just right to see it and won't be a problem feel-wise.

The bathroom scale says 9lbs.

I'll try to get better photos soon.

I never had the neck off but estimate it to be no more than 10 years old. 6-bolt neck.

It's still available. I might consider shipping to Canada. Seems like it was really expensive for the buyer the last time I did it.

I saw a YouTube video of Ed Friedland demonstrating the Tribute L2000. From the way he played and the sounds he dialed, the bass seems to have very pronounced midrange to high-mid. How does the bass sound on the low end?

G&Ls, particularly the L-2000 and L-2500 IME, have all the booty you could ever want on tap, just a matter of dialing it up. I like a nice fat tone with mids that cut, and I usually run the bass control only about 1/2 way up in parallel mode. In series mode, even less than that, and sometimes all the way down.

Most people seem to find their G&L tone with none of the knobs dimed, myself included.
