TB regulations require me to say the following:
I really hate to sell this.
Now that we have that out of the way, this is a nice L-2500 fretless with ebony board. It has a neck profile that is thin in comparison with a lot of L-2500s that I have played. Very comfortable and not heavy for the type. It has normal fingerboard wear, nothing excessive or problematic. Currently strung with D'addario Half-Rounds, B and E top-loaded with the A,D,G strings through the body. No blemishes, everything works. G&L molded HS case included. $1,000 make that $850 shipped to U.S. destinations only.

1. A consortium of scientists from MIT, Caltech, and NASA, using the latest in cutting edge technology, determined the weight using a series of comparisons against materials of known density - taking all measurements in a vacuum with carefully calibrated instruments...
-OR-
2. The old bathroom scale method.
Seriously, 9.4 lbs is what the old scale says. Bathroom scale measurements I have done in the past have varied plus or minus one or two tenths, so keep that in consideration.
I have owned many G&Ls, and this is among the lighter ones. I currently own 2 L-2500s and 1 L-1505, this one being the lightest of the bunch.
While the bathroom scale is probably not as precise as the MIT/Caltech/NASA gang, using it allows us to save about $3.6 million in weight-determination costs. We happily pass the savings on to you.

| | | | That seems reasonably light for a Bass of that size/girth.
I'll take it. |

There is a second or two between each one. I tried to show the tone in different ranges, as there is a low C played on the B string in the last of the 3 sections. The L-2500 was taken through a chorus plug-in, so keep that in mind. This is the only recording I have readily available, hope it helps. Sorry, but I didn't note the pickup and control settings I used on the session.
G&L L-2500s are often called the "Swiss Army knife of basses". There are enough tonal variations with the switching and controls to keep you busy for days. I'm selling this one only because I have 2 G&L fretless 5-strings at the moment, and really don't need both.
