FS - G&L L1505 - MINT - Priced to move -Los Angeles local sale only for now

Up for grabs is my mint condition 1997 G&L 1505 5-string bass. She's a beauty! Take a look:

Sound clips available here:

http://www.zumaz.com/audio/G&L/L1505/

I would suggest downloading all four clips and playing them in your media player as you read the lowdown:

fingerstyle funk- consists of 5 clips, played right over the pickup

1. preamp OFF, parallel mode
2. preamp OFF, series mode
3. preamp ON, parallel mode
4. preamp ON, series mode
5. preamp OFF, parallel mode WITH Sadowsky outboard preamp engaged (bass and treble at 5 for all Sadowsky clips)

jazz walking - played closer to the neck and with a lighter touch

1. preamp OFF, parallel mode
2. preamp OFF, parallel mode WITH Sadowsky outboard preamp engaged

pick - jamming aggressively to The Cure with a Fender thin teardrop pick

1. preamp OFF, parallel mode
2. preamp ON, parallel mode
3. preamp OFF, parallel mode WITH Sadowsky outboard preamp engaged
4. preamp ON, parallel mode WITH Sadowsky outboard preamp engaged

slap - a quick slap lick followed by some B pounding

1. preamp OFF, parallel mode
2. preamp OFF, parallel mode WITH Sadowsky outboard preamp engaged
3. preamp OFF, parallel mode
4. preamp OFF, parallel mode WITH Sadowsky outboard preamp engaged

This bass is beautifully constructed and is in perfect condition. Priced to sell at $700. I still have the hang tag that prices this bass at $1750. Includes case candy but <B>no case</B>. Disclaimer - Do not buy this bass if you like skinny necks. This neck is FAT like a Warwick.

If you put another $100 in, I will give you throw in a like-new Sadowsky outboard preamp. I bought it for this bass as I find it complements it very well. They go together in my opinion. So, think of it this way, you pay $800 and you get a $250 preamp and a $1700 bass BOTH in perfect condition.

Weight is 10lbs 7 oz.

Made in USA of course - this model is not made in the import Tribute series
Hipshot tuners
Can be strung through the body
Beautiful wood on both sides (not just a painted back like some)
Brand new Ernie Ball Slinkys strings and a fresh setup
Low action
Did I mention it was in Mint condition?

Serious inquires only and no lowball offers please. Thanks for looking! As stated before, I don't have a hard case so I'm looking for a local sale. Would consider trading for the right single H Ernie Ball.

Am I wrong or is the E string tuner missing a screw in that photo of the back of the headstock?

Nice bass though! I have an unlined fretless L-1505 and I really like it.

Well wouldn't you know it, you're absolutely right AND I hadn't noticed it before. The odd thing is that there is no screw hole either! It still feels solid and the tuner doesn't lift.

swpyne - is your neck's thickness (front to back) as thick as this one? We're talking major beef here!

Ok guys, here's the deal. I think I'm getting an SB14 Sterling. If I could do that without spending money that would be great. I'm going to trade this beast at Guitar Center if no one bites for $650 out the door. Like I said, I'm looking for a local-ish sale as I will not ship this without a case.

Just thought I'd put it out there before I pull the trigger.

I took a look at mine and it looks to me to be a bit slimmer but it's kind of hard to tell fro certain. Great basses though! Someone will love this beauty for sure.......and for only $650! Nice!!!
