Up for grabs is my G&L SB-1 with hardcase. Going by the serial number it is a 1987 “Leo Era” with the “lawsuit” headstock.

It has a 1.75 neck width but it plays much better than my MIA P-bass.

There are some moderate checks in the finish along the top, back and edges (pictured). There are also some thin cracks in the finish along the top and back. Otherwise this bass is in good shape.

Despite the cosmetic wear this is a great playing and sounding bass. The action is nice and low and the play feel is very smooth.

Price: $500 Shipped to Continental USA

Payment: USPS Money Order or Paypal (we’ll split the 3% fee)

Trades will be considered but I am in need of cash to pay for a bass I just bought.

Dang! That G&l looks so good! If I didn't always end up getting rid of my P-basses, I would have to scrounge up some money for that beauty.

Questions asked:
1. How is fret wear?
2. Can't see from the pix. Are their checks or cracks on the front of the bass?
3. Do you know if it weighs about the same as later SB-1s? (Or if not, do you know the weight?)

Answers Given:
1. There is only a slight amount of fretwear on the first few frets.
2. There are very minute cracks in the clear coat. These can only be seen if you catch them in the light just right.
3. It weighs 8 lbs on my bathroom scale.
