Hey Y'all,

Following in the footsteps of my good friend bdgotoh I'm posting a 3-some of very nice basses for sale (and possibly trade). My offerings:

G&L SB-1
This is a very nice G&L SB-1 with my favorite skinny neck. 1.5" wide at the nut and I believe it's a #6 based on the era and how it feels to me. The maple on this neck & fretboard has some very nice figure/grain to it. The bass is also nice and light. I believe it's 8.something lbs - I can get a more accurate measurement (at least as accurate as my bathroom scale can do) if desired. It's in nice shape and came and will ship in a molded G&L case. Burst body (your guess is as good as mine as to whether it's 3-tone sunburst or tobacco burst) that shows some grain but I can't decide whether I think it's alder or ash. It looks and sounds great so I don't really care.
*** SOLD *** $795 shipped in the contiguous 48

G&L JB-2
This US JB-2 is blonde over ash with a rosewood #8 neck (1.5" wide at the nut, 12" fretboard radius). Very light - 8.2lbs. Great condition and edgy jazz sound. I've swapped out the OEM pickups for Fender Custom Shop 60s Jazz pickups and added series/parallel switching with a push/pull pot. I like these pickups - more bottom than the OEM ones and plenty of sparkle/cut. Series is pretty much all I use (hence my movement back to MFD HB equipped G&Ls). It came to me in a Road Runner gig bag and will ship in the same along with the OEM pickups and some white pickups coves that came with it.
$735 shipped in the contiguous 48

Fender Jaguar
Brand new condition (still has plastic on pickguard, etc.). I can still return it and will if no deal that makes sense pops up. Sunburst/rosewood. I love the sound - it would be my #1 if the ergonomics worked for me but the body shape/upper horn make it less than ideally comfortable (skinny necked G&Ls are my ideal). It does have the "loose battery in the battery box" syndrome (needs some padding in there to hold it firmly in place) and I haven't noticed it as particularly noisy.
$525 shipped in the contiguous 48

I'm dropping down in bass number. The only things I'd consider trading for are: G&L L1K w/1.5" nut width, G&L L-2000 w/1.5" nut width, Fender Kingman bass, Fender HMT bass, Carvin AC40

Craig- you trading for another skinny-neck wunkay? Gotta say this one I got from you is getting MUCH love!

That SB-1 is sweet.. never seen the 1.5" width on one of those.....

I had another older SB1 that had the skinny neck - it was belair green/rw with crinkle black pickguard. I wish I had held on to that one.

David - I'm thinking about Brad's CAR L1K. I just can't settle on one bass and have come back to the flexibility of the MFD HBs.

I weighed them this morning and got 8.4 lbs for the JB2 and 9.0 lbs for the SB1.

I might think about a G&L Climax or L-1500 w/1.5" nut width and 8 or 9 lbs in trade as well . . .

*** SB-1 SOLD ***

My main trade/acquisition objective is another G&L L-2000. Must have 1.5" nut width, preferably with a #6 neck (7.5" fretboard radius) and weigh under 10 lbs, preferably under 9 lbs. Alder/rw or alder/ebony would be great as the one I have is ash/maple but I'll consider any.

I'll give the Jag a couple of more days and then it's back to MF. If anyone sees a 20% discount anywhere let me know - I'd exchange it for a Kingman if I could get the discount.

Craig,

You wouldn't believe the tears flowing down my cheeks....sob....sob.....I don't have a computer at home, so wasn't on-line over the weekend and just saw your ad. I would have killed for that SB1! I think of any G&L you've had, that's the one I wanted most......
If your buyer ever decides he wants to part with it, I WANT IT!!!!!

That JB2 is gorgeous. Two problems.... I don't have $735, and I can never quite get the J sound to work for me. So, bump-a-roo...

I'd trade the Jag for a Highway 1 J (I'm digging the JB2s these days and wouldn't mind trying "the original")

How about $695 shipped for the JB2?

I might take a Trib SB2 in partial trade for it as well.

I could also swap the original pickups back in and drop a few bucks off the price.

Very cool bass. But I'm trying to stick to G&Ls because I know they work for me ergonomically while pretty much everything else I've tried has something about it that makes me drop it for another G&L. So thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.

OK, JB2 staying put for now (L2K going to go out instead), Jag going back to MF soon, time to lock this back down.
