FS: G&L SB-2 fretless

Hey Y'all,

I bought the LPB fretless SB2 (it's light and unlined) and so my black, lined fretless SB2 is up for sale (one fretless is enough for me).

This is a very nice SB-2 fretless. It has G&L's ghostlines which are grooves where the fretlines would be. 1.5" nut width on the neck. It's a little heavier than I like - 10.4 lbs by my bathroom scale. The weight is the only thing that caused me to turn it over - otherwise I've been very pleased with it (and the one coming in is unlined which I prefer aesthetically).

I've modified the controls. The front knob is now a stack knob with master vol and J-pickup vol stacked and the rear knob is a tone knob. Essentially you can adjust the overall volume and the amount of J pickup blended with the P. This is my favorite setup for an SB-2.

There's a bit of lighter area in ebony that is on the edge of the fretboard in a couple of places. If you look carefully you can see it in the picture near the G string towards the body of the bass.

Ships in a beaten-to-death (one broken hinge, cracked & broken feet, etc.) G&L molded case that will protect it well in shipping but not be useful for much else.

$650 shipped in the contiguous 48, paypal OK

possible trades:

Reverend Rumblefish 4-string
Steinberger Spirit XZ-2
NS Wav 4

Schroeder 12+/12+L 8 Ohm
Markbass NY 121
Carvin BX500

cleaned up the thread and tweaked the trades as I bought another bass today which limits what I might look at instead of cash/paypal

I really want this one.
Sometimes I wish I didn't live in Norway.

Norway seems to have package limits (108" total length+girth, max length of 60") that would allow it to be shipped in one piece, in the beat up case, if desired

I'm willing to ship internationally via USPS/your country's postal service. My requirements for international deals:

- gotta prepay me via paypal in US funds
- I won't fudge values on customs forms

PM me your country and postal code for what the cost with international shipping would be . . .

Great. Now I'll just have to pay some bills and see what's left after that.
Those ghostlines aren't visible from a distance, are they?

I don't think the ghostlines would be noticeable from any significant distance. They are just slots in the ebony with nothing to make them stand out.
