Hey Y'all,
I've got too many basses (is that an oxymoron?) and after much deliberation this one, which I've only had back a very short time, is the one that comes up as the one to go.
It's a fairly lightweight red swirl SB2 with a rosewood board. The neck is definitely 1.5" wide at the nut and because of the era I assume it's a #6 (1.5" nut width, 7.5" fretboard radius). When I had it before I modified the controls to be stacked master-vol/j-pickup-vol and tone (my favorite control setup on an SB2).
It does have a few dings in the red swirl finish (the swirl finishes were discontinued because they didn't hold up well) but the black undercoat blends in really well and you don't notice them from any distance. It has a fresh set of DR steel rounds that were put on it by the person I bought it from and will ship in a molded G&L case that has seen better days but still protects well.
$650 shipped in the contiguous 48, paypal OK
possible trades:
- NS Design Wav 4
- lightweight L1K body for the SB2 body
- US G&L JB-2 or JB
- Steinberger Spirit XZ2
I might also go for a lightweight, affordable 1x12 or 2x10 and/or head (GK400RB, Carvin B800, etc.) for my son
I might also be interested in a lightweight (40lbs or less) combo (probably 1x12 or 1x15) with decent power and tone
