FS: German Warwick Corvette 5/Nirvana black/FretFX

Sign in to disble this ad
Since I moved, I have lots of bills, and money's getting a little tight. Since this bass spends most of it's time hanging on the wall (since I got my Vette $$ 5) I figure it's time to move it along.

From the original FS thread, edited here and there:

Quote:
serial: G136506-07 (Made in Germany)

produced:
07/19/2007

Info:
Corvette Standard, 5-string
Nirvana Black Oil finish
Swamp Ash body
Ovangkol neck/wenge fretboard

Other Features:
- Passive MEC pickups
- Knobs: Volume, Blend, Tone
- Strings: DR Marcus Miller Fat Beams
- Includes awesome Warwick Stock Straplocks (These are better than the Schallers I have on my other basses in my opinion)
I'll include a strap (unsure of the brand, I think it's a Planet Waves 3") with the straplocks, as well.

I bought and installed red FretFX LED markers on this bass almost as soon as I got it. The positioning is a *hair* off, but not enough to throw you off. I'll include the two or three batteries I have left (they last a while, but I always had them on at practice to get used to them). This bass is actually the inspiration for my avatar. The only thing about the FretFX is that near the nut the adhesive started to come loose, so I used tape on the back of the headstock to compensate.

I have since changed the strings to DR Red Devils. I thought it would look cool with the red LEDs, but I was wrong. :sigh: I'll throw in a brand-new unopened set of Dunlop SS medium 5 strings, if you want them.

Quote:
Wear and Tear:
There is some minor finger wear near the neck pickup, a chip/gouge which you can see in the pics near the bridge (near the B string), and some belt scratches on the back (from previous owner). It could probably use a good setup by a guitar tech.
It got a good setup in March, by Chuck at Moe's Music. Plays like a dream now. I prefer my action a little higher, but Chuck said he could take it as low as I wanted. The blemishes are less noticeable than I expected when I received it, but I'll take pics this afternoon and try to have them up tomorrow.

Straight sale only - I wish I could entertain trades, but I just really need the $ right now. I'm not desperate, so please no lowball offers - I can make it till next payday, I'm just a little tighter than I'd like to be.

:EDIT: Okay, so yeah, I need the money, but if someone has an Ibanez Gary Willis GWB-35, I'd do a trade.

$650 + shipping
Price drop - $600 + shipping OBRO (PayPal is preferred, cashier's check or postal money order) to the continental USA - which is what I paid for it before the setup, strings, strap, and FretFX. Shipping should run less than $50 via FedEx. If you're within reasonable driving distance and want to commit, I'll meet you halfway - as far as Richmond, anyway. Local sale is always preferred.

I will include the Warwick Rockbag which is a REALLY nice gig bag (I don't want to part with it, but I don't have anything else to ship it in and don't want to ship it half-@$$!

It does NOT come with the Warwick book & tool kit.

This is currently the best pic I have available, but I'll take more this afternoon. It's the one on the left, BTW - the $$ isn't for sale.

The pics below are from the original FS thread. I don't have internet at home right now, so I'm going to have to take pictures today and them find somewhere to hop on and post them, but I should have that done this afternoon or tomorrow.

The bass as it is this morning, about 2 hours ago.

This is the bass as of this morning. You get all the stuff pictured, except you have to pick between the Planet Waves strap and the awesome Levi's comfort strap. The Levi's strap is dark brown, though. The Planet Waves strap is black. Also, the stand is not included.

This shows the "off-ness" of the LED array at the 12th fret.

With the LEDs on.

Showing the taped wire - I used the aluminum tape because it doesn't leave a residue.

Some slight rash on the back, as it was when I got it.

Neck view - very straight.

Got a couple of offers, want to hold out and see if anyone will meet my asking price.

Beginning of the work week (for me) bump!

Bass weighs (on bathroom scale) roughly 8.4lbs, though I'm not 100% on the accuracy of the scale, it's a fairly light bass.

String spacing is the normal, fairly tight 16.5mm - great for fingerstyle, or someone with a deft thumb.

Weekend bumpity.

Got my tax return, bills are straight, and now I'm hoping to manage a washer/dryer with money (in part) from this sale.

Sorry for the delay in answers, guys, been super-sick the last few days, only now starting to feel better.

Danielrocks - Thanks, but not really looking for trades, unless someone happens along with an Ibanez GWB.

AdamR - passive. Great sound to it, au natural.
