SOLD
For sale is a Godlyke Deity bass. I'm not sure of the year-- probably made within the last 10 years. The guys at GC told me that it was sold to them by a local session jazz artist. From what I have read from the reviews on Godlyke's website, these basses are handmade in Japan. This bass has a set neck-- the neck joint is really something to behold and one of my favorite features. This is something that you usually find on Gibson instruments or certain Warwicks.
This bass is pretty rare and I'm sure not a lot of people have had a chance to play one. It can achieve whole range of tones with the 3-band EQ, 18-volt active electonics, Music Man-style bridge pickup, and single coil Jazz-style neck pickup. The neck is wider than a jazz bass, but with what I find but I find it to be really comfortable. A full range of specs can be found below.
This bass definitely had a lot of playing wear when I bought it. The strap buttons were loose, the bridge didn't look too solid, the bass was pretty dirty, and the hardware was pretty tarnished. It has plenty of scratches on it, along with some nicks out of the headstock's top. I took it to Mouradian Guitars (to me one of the best setup places in New England) and they did a lot of work on it. They replaced the original bridge with a Hipshot (the bridge was the one true weak point on this instrument) and fully cleaned the body, hardware, and the electronics. It really shines now compared to how it used to look. This bass has trim pots to set the individual pickup output, and they balanced them for me as well. I also installed Schaller strap locks, which I will include. It has brand new strings as it just had all this work done only two weeks ago.
These basses are listed on Godlyke's site for
$2,500. The lowest price I have seen for one was
$1740 at the Sam Ash on 48th Street in NYC (where Manny's music used to be).
Price: $800 OBO

EDIT: I am willing to ship this bass within the continental United States. PM me with any questions you may have.
