FS: Guild Pilot, Fretless with Epoxy! Mwaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys I am selling my Guild Pilot Fretless. It's a great instrument, neck has a great profile, sounds great, plays great, has that super duper Epoxy "Mwahhh" sound... Made in USA, quartersawn neck, active EMG Pickups... you know the specs...

I'm selling it because I'm a big superficial Jerk and am building myself a new fretless, but with a Jazz style body in the more "traditional" Fender style.

Anyway, bass is in very good condition, looking for 500, plus shipping. I have sold several basses on TB over the years and I promise that as long as you can live with electric bubblegum blue as your color of choice, you will be totally groovin' on this baby.

500+shipping, please no trades... Includes the old but reliable Guild case (pictured). Any questions fire away!

I had a fretted version just like this. Love that blue colour, and it was a great bass. As someone once said, it looks like a Fender Jazz that Salvador Dali designed.

Good luck with your sale!

Thanks for the bumpies... Forgot to mention, you can also hear this bass on the track "Flipper is on a Killing Spree" at http://www.myspace.com/zombiesurfcamp

Not the most typical application for this kind of bass, but at least it's something!

funny how these don't get more love. I had one in the late 80's and back then it did the jazz bass better than Fender.

Mine was a wine color with a beutiful woodgrain. I miss it greatly.

good luck with the sale.

With a song title like that - I'd almost have to buy it

lol @ downlow...

Yeah it's a great bass... If it had a classic paint scheme and the classic Jazz shape I'd never dream of selling it.

This looks to be defretted, and I was wondering:

1) Who did the defret?

2) With what were the kerfs filled?

3) Who did the epoxy work?

4) Can you tell me the type of epoxy, number of layers, etc.?

Thank you in advance for your reply!

I am not sure who did the defret as it was done many years ago (professionally) and I bought it from the original owner like this. The lines are maple, and I am unsure on the number of layers of Epoxy as well. It plays/sounds great...
