FS: Heavily Modded MIM Fender P!!! Billy Sheehan style! Kind of!

Sign in to disble this ad
For Sale: 1995 Made in Mexico Fender Precision. It was heavily modded by the previous owner to resemble a Billy Sheehan type thingeroo. Well, sort of. There is a DiMarzio Will Power in the bridge, and there was a DiMazio Model One added to the Neck. There is a Hipshot D-tuner (Detuner?) (I don't have the original tuner). The controls are VVT. There is only one output jack (unlike Billy). I recently (less than a month) had a TUSQ nut installed, and put on a brand new set of GHS Brite Flats.

Includes a hard case.

Standard P basses seems to be going for 325-350, but with the upgrades (will power is 75 new, Model One is 75 new, Hipshot is 75)/recent work (New nut was 50)/new strings (30)/hard case, I'm looking to get 350 plus shipping. 450 400 plus shipping.

The bass is in generally very good shape. There are a couple of dings, but this is my backup bass, and it was also the previous owner's backup. It is slightly buzzy beyond the 12th fret. This problem has been remedied! I'm not great at setups, so it could probably use the touch of a pro wizard.

Am I the type of guy to have a new nut installed and NOT get a setup done?

Yes I am.

Not terribly interested in trades, because the money for this is going towards a Highway One P (aahhhh simplicity....) But hit me with what you have, and maybe we can work something out. Of course, if you DO have a Highway One P, well that would just be fine. If you want to reduce the cost a bit, I can throw in a gig bag instead. But really, what the heck am I going to do with all of the hard cases?

I would absolutely trade this for a P Bass Elite II. I could even add cash. Any crackheads out there?

Pics Ahoy!

More pics ahoy!

Discoloration on the neck There is no splitting, cracking, nothing but darkness. Looks like it's from where your hand rubs along the fretboard. Maybe the previous owner was a mechanic. I'm not sure.

price drop. BAM.

ALSO

If you are local, say from NYC to Portland Maine, we could probably work out a delivery arrangement. So you can save on shipping. Hooray!

The total lack of interest says it might be here when you get the scratch together....

But seriously, this is a pretty nice bass! I just have a couple of others that are un-sellable (for sentimental/they are frankensteined beyond resale) so this one needs to go!

Well it doesn't NEED to go--I don't need drug money (I have a whole separate account for that), I don't have a family to support--but I SHOULD sell it before buying another.

Hey, if you are local, say from Portland Maine to Brooklyn, we could probably work out a delivery arrangement. Let me know!

Thanks! I'm sober now, and I totally would have bumped it.

Now strung with D'addario Chromes. That Model One plus Chromes equals fatness. It sounds like I look.

This bass is playing great, but I have ANOTHER T40 in my future, so something has got to go!

Okay the T40 is here. Might trade towards a head of some sort, and I could add cash for the right one.

That's okay! I actually am loving it these days--low action, flats, nice set up--but the T40 rules, and my other fretted bass is too much of a frankenstein to sell.
