FS: Ibanez Artcore ASB-140 w/ Darkstar

Hi all,

I didn't think I would be doing this, but the future of my band is a bit shaky. Drummer has left the country and if/when he will return is in doubt. Add to that the fact that I want to get more into solo recording (based in no small part on said band troubles) and I need some recording equipment more than I need a fourth bass. I picked this one to head out because:

A) Last in, first out
B) I have another semi-hollow which covers similar tone bases
C) This is also worth more than my other basses (I love cheapies!)

So, on to the bass. I got this in a trade here about a month ago from Greg AKA lonote, and everything he says about it is true. The Darkstar is perfect for hollow bodies and deserves all the acclaim it gets. Plus, it already exists so you don't have to worry about ordering one and not having your emails returned . Honestly, the pickup was the real reason I wanted this bass. I figured that even if the instrument sucked I could remove the Darkstar and put it in something I liked. This Ibanez really surprised me, though. It is a very solid feeling and playing bass. I had an Epiphone Allen Woody sig a few months ago (for one day before I returned it) and the Ibanez is so much better than that thing I can't believe it came from the same country. I would have no problem gigging and recording with this bass. Intonation, action, and neck are right on.

Other details as they come to me:
-Strung with flats. I think they're Sadowskys? Silver silk. They feel good.
-I added a mahogany thumb rest. I was using the pickup and it wasn't really in a good position for me when I fingerpicked. It's 3M taped on, so no screw holes if you don't like it.
-Strap not included. If you want one go to couchguitarstraps.com .
-Strap button has been moved to upper horn.

Flaws (see pictures):
-On the front there is a small gouge in the finish about the size of a BB.
-On the back there are a couple of finish cracks. About 3 and 10 inches. They're hard to photograph (though my efforts are below) and show no signs of worsening or affecting the instrument in any way.
