FS - Ibanez ATK500 w/ Upgrades MIJ

Sign in to disble this ad
MIJ Ibanez ATK500 w/upgrades. 8.8 lbs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My job isn't feeling as secure these days and unfortunately, I need to boost my war-chest just in case the worst happens.

This bass sounds just killer and plays like a dream but I always reach for my Reverend Rumblefish or Lakland Jerry Scheff first so no point in having this excellent bass just gather dust.

This ATK500 has all the smart upgrades you would want and sounds amazing! The basscultures.de pickup plays really, really well with the Glockenklang pre.

Made in Japan in around 95/96. Has a straight neck and very low action. Everything on it works as it should.

Some features...

Flame Koa top
Alder Body
3 piece maple neck
Comes with a Yamaha HSC that fits well but is a bit beat up. The case has seen more than a few smoke-filled bars but it gets the job done.

some upgrades....

Fully shielded control and pickup cavity with copper tape
Glockenklang 3 band pre with active /passive and passive tone
Basscultures.de dual coil pickup in an ebony shell
series/parallel/single coil tap switch
Aluminum Sadowsky style knobs
Recent Fret level/crown
Hipshot Ultralight tuners (the original tuners will cover the holes from the Hipshots)

Overall this bass is in great shape only a couple of real dings on the side amd butt end of the bass; it's 16 years-old so it has some legitimate wear but is definitely not abused. It's wearing a new set of Chromes.

Bass currently weighs 8.8 lbs. With the original hardware it weighs 9.5 lbs.

I have all the original hardware/electronics and they will be included with the bass.

$550 shipped CONUS. Please feel free contact me with any questions.

Thanks!

Stephen

Sorry you see the need to thin the heard, Stephen.

I have personally dealt with Stephen on a few bass deals. He's professional, honest, and knows how to properly package a bass for transit.

I am glad to see you are holding on to that Jerry Scheff Beast!

While cash is always king, I suppose I would be open to a trade for a fEARFUL 12/6.

Thanks!

Bump for an absolutely amazing bass and a great guy to deal with.

This bass is really something special. Electronics are dead quiet and sound amazing. Plays like butter too.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, Andy!

I would also be interested in a non-solid body fretted Kala U-Bass (preferably in acacia) in trade plus some cash.

Thanks!

Stephen

Work situtation is looking much better so I'll definitely open this to trades and I'd love to try out a Kala Ubass.

I'm still a big fan of hollowbodies, so feel free to throw ideas my way.

I have a Streamliner 600 coming so I'm no longer looking to trade for a micro-head.

However, I'm still very interested in swapping for a fEARFUL 12/6 or 15/6, or a Bergantino AE210.

Hollowbodies are still swell trade options, too.

Thanks!

Can't believe this is still here. If I had cash I'd buy it back. Really awesome bass here. The asking price is the cost of just the upgrades.

Bump!

I'd also be willing to swap for an Ovation Magnum or a Lakland Decade with cash +/ - as appropriate.

Surely someone must have a nice Ovation Magnum III or IV that they'd like to swap?

Heck, I'd probably even consider a nice guitar that works with my band's alt-country / roots-rock / rockabilly sensibilities (i.e., no neon, no pointy-headstocks, etc). Reverend guitars, Tele's, Ibanez Talman with lipstick pickups, etc.

Thanks!
