I've closed my mass sale thread in hopes of generating more interest here.
I picked this up a couple months ago at a local pawn shop. It was clearly loved, used, and maybe abused a little bit. It needs a lot of work! But it's super cool, and pretty rare. Honestly, it's the neck that needs the most attention, but a Fender neck heels fits this perfectly.
Here's some pics.
You can see from the pics there are several issues to be dealt with, regarding the neck. The first several frets have gnarly grooves in them. I don't know if they can be leveled out, it's more likely they need to be replaced. The rest of the neck, above the 7th fret or so, isn't nearly as worn.
The truss rod nut appears to have been shimmed with a couple of washers, and one of them is definitely crooked. When tightened, this causes the TRN to go crooked, and popped off the string nut. Then I noticed slight separation of the fingerboard from the neck from the nut to the 2nd fret.
Also, the headstock features the classic break that was so common to these instruments. Does not affect the stability of the headstock in any way.
I don't have any history on this bass, but the Black Eagle Registry guy says that the lack of serial number on the neck plate means that it's pre-serial number, dating it to before June 1975. It appears that a previous owner loved this bass, and made some 70's era upgrades including Dimarzio humbucking pickups, Grover "Wavy" Titan tuners, black control plate and a Badass bridge (which the body was routed for to sink it into the top).
My price is $450 plus actual shipping. I will include the taped up, beat up destroyed case, unless you'd rather save money on shipping and have me removed the neck from the body and send it in a smaller box. Please, make me an offer!

If memory serves I think I pulled the frets out of it. I also think mine had the outside piece of the scroll broken off just like this one here in the add. I'd be happy to send this neck to the seller or buyer for the price of shipping it.

It's like Dali tweaked a jazz bass body just a little.
