very lightweight bass with great tones available. I have lost my job and this will be the 3rd bass I'm selling now. I borrowed one of these back in the late 80's and absolutely loved it and just found another last year as it has a great snarly tone and is easy on the back. This is a player bass not a collector bass, maybe I'm just picky but I could not get some of the ugly spots to show up, you can see the scratches on the upper heal but you have to inspect closely to see some of the marks because it's a dark bass. Previous owner had used marker to fill in some spots. If you're 4 feet away they're not visible at all. There is a spot on the side of the fretboard around the 3rd or 4th fret where the clear finish has worn off. This has no affect on my playing in any way. I'd like to get 525 shipped. This is a great quality neckthrough instrument that's wood has aged for 30 years and has no issues. This bass held it's own in my stable among many much more hyped basses, people say they have "80's tone" but IMO it's just simply a great tone that puts the bass a little more out front in the mix. |

These epitomize the phrase,"cuts through the mix"
Very piano-like, up front like a Ric but more unique.
My first quality bass, I bought one with the preamp taken out, it killed.
Sold it like an idiot.

I bought one of these (the brown one) at Steve's in Danvers in '84.
The truss rod died and the neck bowed HARD, so i pawned it. I miss it, however. |

I was introduced to these near Chicago where I came up...lots of fantastic stores there that probably don't exist anymore. |

| | | | You may wait a bit on putting it on the bay for a bit. I've never seen so many bean basses on there before! While yours would be the only MC, there are currently 3 RB's on there. I love bean basses and am jonesing hard with no funds until next month. How about a Kala 'Hog Ubass trade for the Bean?

| | | | I had been jonesing for one of these since trying one out in a Guitar Center in '99 and foolishly not buying it then (for $400). I managed to score one this year for $350, looks exactly like yours! (black) Nice crunch, great for playing Rush. A bit difficult to play sitting down with it on your lap though.
