FS: Ibanez SR2000 MIJ Prestige PJ

Asking for 550 520 500 475450 shipped OBO in the Cont USA. Does not include a case but will be double boxed. This is a killer bass that has been played well!

Here is a MIJ SR2000, perhaps 92-93? it is pretty light and has a sleek, thin neck. Neck thru design gives it great sustain. It is a very thin bass with a very round body. It was quite dirty when I got it so I have been oiling it and cleaning it the past few days. This bass surely has been played and is a keeper. Frets are in great shape for as much as the oil finish is worn down in certain areas (looks like someone used a pick a lot!) Active pups are nice, sound just like EMGs to me... the model the year before this one had EMGs, wouldn't be surprised if some reverse engineering occurred. The J is nice and quiet when solo'd as well. Controls are volume, blend, bass +/- and treble +/-.

Sorry the pics are not the best, let me know if you have any certain shots you want to see. I just prefer a thicker neck, this thing is too small for me, plays like a dream though!

Great PJ sound. Someone considered this bass to have a sound between a Fodera and a Spector (he owned all three at one time). I think that is a fair, depending on how you EQ you can make it sound more classier or modern. I have included a page from the catalog, here are some specs I found, sorry there isn't anymore information.

Specs:
BODY MAPLE
NECK: 5Pc MAPLE /WALNUT (THRU NECK)
FRETBOARD :ROSEWOOD
INLAY: PEARL OVAL
BRIDGE: TAILPIECE / NUT ACCU-CAST B-IV
HARDWARE: GOLD
PICKUPS: AFR-P AFR-J
FINISHES (OIL)

Let me know if you have any questions! Not interested in trades at the moment.

Thanks, it certainly is not a closet queen. It has been played and the oil finish reflects that. Regardless, it is quite an incredible instrument that was meticulously constructed. Sure to make someone very happy

Beautiful bass, but this pre-dates the Prestige line.

I bought one of these new from a dealer in 94(?), and was my primary bass until sold in 2005. Great instrument!

Bump for great bass

Thanks for the info. I was told it was a prestige, but there is nothing that would indicate that on the bass itself. Sorry for the confusion. Top notch construction regardless!

Here are some better pics as well! Just weighs under 9 lbs...seems lighter since it is quite ergonomic.

I have to admit I am not sure why they went with gold either, I think black would have looked great! If you play it enough it will be chrome

Very nice! My SR2000 is an '89 w/ 18v EMG's and Kubicki style bridge (see avatar) and is a keeper!

Someone needs to snatch this up, quickly!

I know you are new here, but that is bad form. Things like that should be done in a PM not in the tread. You might want to go and read the forum rules and guild lines, IMHO.

His post was deleted but it lives on in your quote.

Bump for a fellow mitten resident.
