FS: Ibanez SRX 705

For Sale: Ibanez SRX 705 - this is a great bass guitar but I've decided to focus on playing the 4-string and the double bass and the extra string is just one too many differences to worry about. I played it for about a year in a church group. The bass is in great shape, no obvious dings or scratches and no fret wear. It's currently strung with TI flat wound strings. I'm the second owner and the first owner put straplock buttons on in place of the standard strap hangers. I may have a set I can exchange if you want that, otherwise as far as I can tell it's all original. Neck-thru construction with nice wood grain patterns. No case but I'll ship in a gig bag in a well packed carton.

$500 plus shipping.

Higher res photos on request.

I'll throw in the shipping in the continental US. Buyers in HI, AK, or overseas pay the difference and any customs fees or taxes.

Back from ebay - got a deadbeat "buyer". Now I remember why I stay away from there. New lower price for my talkbass brethren of $450 including shipping in the continental US. PM or email with questions. Here's the description from my ebay listing

Ibanez SRX 705 5-string Electric Bass Guitar - Natural finish. This instrument is in great shape. I played it for about a year in a church group (Lutheran church so it was treated very mildly and only exposed to coffee, no smoke or alcohol or bar smutz). I double on upright bass and guitar and the low B was just one thing too many for me to keep up with, so I haven't played this bass for a while. When the last guitar I bought showed up I had to promise the wife that I'd let something go, so the Ibby is on the auction block. The bass is currently wearing a set of TI Jazz Flats which give it that old school bass thump. Electronics all work fine, no noise and no problems. Pair this up with a decent amp and you can rattle the pews. It's not a boutique bass but it is a solid, pro-quality working instrument that has many, many years of playing to left to do and I'd like to see it go to someone who will play it.

There are no obvious condition issues that I can see, although I'm sure there is some gentle wear and tear that a close inspection might turn up. No buckle rash, no visible scratches, and no nicks or dings. No obvious wear on the frets, I have a light touch. You can look on Ibanez's web site for the specs but the string spacing is good, not too narrow. I have no problem switching between my 4-string and this 5-string as far as spacing goes. I don't slap so I can't tell you if the spacing works for that. I can supply higher resolution photos on request. The bass had Schaller strap-locks on it when I got it and since I use Schallers that was no problem for me. If you'd rather have standard strap buttons, I'll be glad to swap them out. I have an extra set laying around. I don't have a case but I'll ship it in a Roadrunner gig bag and a well packed instrument carton.

Thanks, it is a nice bass. Maybe if I keep it hidden away for a bit my wife will forget about it?

The SRX705 is a great bass! As I often say, I wish I had the extra cash.
