This is an Ibanez SRX4EX1, which was a GC exclusive item. It originally came in matte black... this has been refinished in a gloss black sparkle-burst. The headstock and front of the body (up to the edge) are a sparkle black finish, and the back of the entire instrument is gloss black. It appears to be a pro job, but I have no verification as to who did it. I added an Ibanez logo on the front of the headstock and the model number to the back. Both were removed in the refin.
The original pickups and preamp are long gone, replaced with an older EMG 35P and 35J, wired to a Bass Mods BEQ-12 3-band preamp, all running at 18v. Neck is really straight, action is fairly low, and it plays like a dream. This is a fairly bright, aggressive bass, but can be tamed with the EQ. Comes with a Roadrunner hard/soft case (like
this one).
In the interest of full discosure, the bass is in great shape, but not perfect. There is some swirling on the back of the body in a few spots, and a chip in the edge of the bottom of the body (pic below). Also, some of the clearcoat at the body-end of the fingerboard looks to be chipping slightly.
