Have a few things I need to unload to make room for my new Clement Fretless. This Excellent bass is first up.
Model is SRX700, MIK, I'm the second owner. There are some scuffs on the head stock, what looks to be a flaw in one of the stringers in the body and the bridge is showing some age but otherwise this bass is in Excellent condition. All original. Plays and sounds outstanding. Seriously great action and plays like butter. Frets are in excellent shape.
Comes shipped in the original case with keys which is also in VGC.
Bass has been setup for low action with a brand new set of Dean Markley Nickel Plated Blue Steel strings and is ready to go.
$375 $325 $300 Shipped CONUS. Will ship outside of the country for additional shipping charges. PayPal is fine. Would trade for a Precision style bass or 6 string?
I do travel a fair amount for work so am usually out of town mid week so I may not be able to ship next day but I will let you know specifics before going through with a sale.
It is active. Controls are volume, blend, treble and bass. it could be easily wired passive if someone wanted and the pickups are hot enough I'm sure they would sound great.
Beautiful Bass!
Would this be a decent alternative to the new SBMM S.U.B. Ray4?
Couldnt find to many youtube vids.
Thanx,
Jeff
Thanks!
Haven't played the new SUB 4's yet so I can't say a lot about that specific bass... If you can I'd say try to go play a SUB and a neck through or even bolt on SR700 if you can find one. The 500's are close but the body is more rounded (I think?)
The main things I would consider would be 2 pickups vs 1, and ergonomics. And I guess the look if that is a concern. Plus neck through vs bolt on and this 700 comes with a hard case. The 5 piece neck is supposed to improve neck stability (and this one is rock solid) and the body is some pretty nice Ash. Not sure what the MM comes with as the specs just say hardwood.
I really like Music Man basses but have yet to find one thats super comfortable to play. While Many Ibanez basses 500 model and up are very comfy to me. I know my 700 plays well, is properly setup and balances well on strap or lap.
