FS: J bass by Dan Ransom, replaced my Sadowsky Metro!

Pics and specs below.
After owning J basses from several builders, I got a Sadowsky Metro (first year). I liked everything about it, gigging and recording, but it wasn’t resonant (blah wood). Dan Ransom had made me several guitars and basses, so I asked him to make this to surpass my Sadowsky, and he succeeded. Very alive, resonant, balanced and singing, it became my main bass for the past 5 years (studio only). It originally had Ultra Jazz pickups and OPB-1 preamp set up, but I replaced them with a NJ4/Audere combo recently, which I prefer by far. I’m selling it because he just made me a PJ with Fralins and a Nordy pre, and soon will also deliver a 70’s style J with Nordstands and a Sadowsky Pre. So I’m going to sell this one and have him make me a pure passive ’66-inspired old school J bass.
Dan is in San Francisco and builds from lumber that he selects himself and crafts with a pin router. He is a builder, NOT an assembler, and has made thousands of custom instruments over 30 years, many for celebrity/pro clients. He used to do all the building for Modulus and now does some high end ghost building and OEM for other brands. He also runs the PLEK for Brawer guitar. And he’s a great guy and has become a friend.
This is a GREAT bass at a joke price. If you want a top quality modern boutique J bass, consider this one. Really.

$1500 shipped and paypalled in CONUS. Will ship internationally, but contact me for adjusted price.

Nice Bass. I've owned three custom Ransom basses in the last ten years and each was fantastic. Danny is a great builder. Someone looking for a custom jazz should jump on this.
