I love the sound and feel of this bass so much that I have commissioned Mike Kinal to make me one with four strings. I am just not a 5 string guy and the size of the neck is a bit much for these old hands. But everything Mr. Pyne said in his listing of the instrument last year is true. It plays beautifully and has a wonderful array of sounds, including upright-like. Super ballsy and taught low B which will shake floors too.
The new one won't be along for a few months, so there is no panic. But this one hangs on the wall at the moment. Might as well be in someone's hands.
Has a couple of very minor dings in the clearcoat that I can't get to show up on a camera. Looks stunning in person. Very light and well balanced. Case is a fortress, but not heavy.
Will send pix in a minute along with a link to the original posting.
$1500 shipped and insured in the lower 48. As to trades, only looking for something light and interesting of similar value.

Otherwise, I can send higher rez shots on request):

I don't know and I can't find my gauge. As soon as I do, I will measure it, sorry. But the strings don't feel crowded.
(Can you take the neck width and divide by 5?). |

Thanks for the offer. If I can't sell the Kinal outright for a reasonable price, its the kind of offer I would take, but only so I could sell the trade.
I am just long too many basses and have decided (including the DK4) to go with what I have now.

PS The Modulus has an incredible tone with the U-Retro!
