Cool FS: Lakland 2008 - 5502 Mint Condition

SOLD!!

Hello All. Up for sale is my 2008 Lakland 5502. I am the original owner. This bass has never left my house. Just used for recordings, in my home studio. Absolute, MINT condition, like the day I purchased it. I swapped out the Lakland/Hanson preamp and put in a Bartolini HR-5.2. In my opinion, it makes it sound more like the old 5502's. The original Lakland/Hanson Preamp is included. I also changed out the knobs for some really nice maple ones. Original knobs are also included. I will ship it in a cheap gig bag, as it did not come with a case. I am asking $950.00 $900 + shipping, for this really sweet bass. The only reason I'm selling it is because I going back to 4 string basses.. Thank you for looking..

How did the "old" 55-02s differ from the "new" ones in terms of tone?

I know you did not ask me, but to my ears, the new ones are more bright and aggressive. The Barts were darker and more mellow. I like the Barts more too.

I only had a 'new' 55-02, and I loved the tone. Got a nice growl out of the LH3 setup. Just couldn't do the spacing. Otherwise, I'd still have it and probably buy steal this one.

Dr. Cheese hits it pretty well....

I personally like the LH3 better.....growl and aggresiveness...

actaully a GREAT price for 2 pre-amps and 2 sets of knobs!!!

@Elionjamz: The Strings are fairly low and not too much buzzing. I have steels on her now, so you know how they sound..

@Kwesi: It's like Dr. Cheese said, the Bart Preamp is a bit smoother, and the combo with Lakland/Hanson Pups hits it just right..
