I also own a custom green 2007 JO with an Alder body and a rosewood neck.
I have gotten numerous inquiries from other Talkbass members asking about the color
on my '07 JO. Someone even dedicated a thread to it on Talkbass!
Red Button's green Lakland
Of course green is not everybody's cup o' tea,
but love it or hate it, it does attract a LOT of attention
and interest from other players.
When pictures of my original Lakland first appeared on Talkbass,
I had over a dozen emails asking me if I was willing to sell it....
Well, now is your chance!
This 2009 JO was originally intended to be the 07's funky counterpart,
and I must say the maple neck & ash body deliver a slamming funk tone.
This is a KILLER brand-spanking new instrument in mint condition!
Why am I selling it? Long story short, Lakland goofed & gave me a birdseye maple board, instead of regular maple.
They offered to make a new neck for me, but the bass was already four months late, and I was not
willing to wait another 6 to 8 months for them to build a new neck.
This is purely a cosmetic issue for me, and if you like the look of birdseye maple (I do not unfortunately)
you will be getting a fantastic bass and saving a lot of money, too.
PRICE DROP: My price is now drastically reduced from $3150 to $
2799.00* *you pay actual FedEx Ground shipping charges to the lower 48.
Lakland has recently
raised their prices, and this instrument (without the upgrades) now lists for $4,400....
Not to mention, the build time will undoubtedly be close to a year (their original estimate was 6 months, it took 10)
Take this opportunity to save a lot of time and cash, and get an incredible instrument in three days
instead of waiting almost a year (or more!)
I'm not accepting offers from international buyers at this time.
No trades, please.
Good luck and let's find this baby a good home!
