Greeting TB'ers. I'm flipping this bass as I'm really looking for a Lakland Skyline P-bass type thing. Found a really good deal on a 44-64 custom (Duck Dunn) on Amazon, so this guy needs to move on.
This is a natural, very handsome, SKYLINE (Korea) 44-01, PLEK'd, but with some serious factory upgrades that pretty much make it a 44-02. The Bart pickups were upgraded to the Mk4 USA version and the preamp was upgraded to the LH-3 Lakland Hanson system. A tone control was added by Lakland for when in passive mode. Did I mention that this baby has been PLEK'd?. The 1.6" neck is just amazing to play. Lakland just does necks like nobody else. Dunlop strap locks installed by previous owner... strap locks included. Original owner says this sold new for $1275 with the upgrades. Priced at $700 shipped, Paypal welcome. With gigbag. Only trade interest is a passive P-bass instrument.
One coating indentation shown in the pics by the output jack. Electronics are quiet and all works well. Bath scale says 9.5 pounds.

I used to have one upgraded just like this.... Kellyrojo's mentioned above... And these basses kick serious ass in many different ways. Great price with all these upgrades, too. GLWTS.
Still available? if so, can you get really low action with little fret buzz, with light to med touch(attack)? Thanks.
I have not fiddled with the set up. But this lakland neck is very very nice and I assume you have room to fine tune the relief and saddle heights to get the action low.
