I have a bad case of "I-want-something-else" so here goes nuthin'.
On the block is my 2006 sunburst 55-02 which I acquired from TBer Dan Lutz some time ago. This is the same bass used on the Taylor Hicks (American Idol) tour. As the story goes, this particular bass was hand-selected by Dan & Dan Lakin for having that "something special" prior to the tour. The tonal balance, character, and weight (<9 lbs) make it one of my go-to basses. That being said, I actually
play this thing so it shows normal wear but no abuse. Overall, I'd give it an 8 / 10 in the cosmetics dept. but, functionally, she's 100%. Minor scratches, swirls, and a small ding at the top of the headstock which is barely noticeable. She also sports an EBMM-esque Jeannie's pickguard held in place by two-sided tape...no screws! I've also lightly deglossed the back of the neck and, as a result, the surface does show some discoloration as frequently seen on Stingrays and the like. Also comes with a cream colored tolex case which is in good but certainly not pristine condition.
I'm asking $850 plus 1/2 shipping (~$20) in the lower 48. The strings are good but I'll throw in an extra set for good measure. I've done my best to describe the cosmetic condition; some of the finer points are not visible in the pics. No trades at this time. Please PM me with any questions, comments, or offers.
