FS: Lakland 55-76, the "Lakland Stingray"

PLEASE, NO TRADES. Sorry, but I need a cash sale.

Reluctantly for sale is my USA Lakland 55-76 - the Music Man killer.

If you ever longed for a Music Man with wide string spacing, then this is it. String spacing is 19mm. Ash body, maple neck with beautiful birdseye maple fingerboard. 35" scale. These seem pretty hard to come by, I haven't seen another one for sale during the entire time I've had the bass.

Basslines pick-up in the EXACT MM position. The Lakland 55-94 does NOT have the MM pickup in the correct MM position, it has the back coil in the Fender Jazz position instead. That makes this bass the perfect fit for someone who wants true MM tone in a Lakland bass!

The distance from the inside of the nut to the front of the pickup is 30-1/4in. The pickup is 1-7/8in. wide.

It has the new Lakland 3 band pre-amp installed with the exact switching as a SR5 (parallel, single, series) and the mid control has DIP switches for a bunch of different frequencies as well.

The bathroom scale says the bass weighs 9lbs. According to the paper in the case it has an Alder body with a birdseye maple board and a quartersawn maple neck.

The bass currently has a grey tortoiseshell pickguard and I also have the original white pickguard. Both will come with the bass. The bass also comes in a Lakland case.

I don't want to sell this killer bass at all but I really need to move it for financial reasons. $2100 Shipped to the Lower 48. All lowball offers will be ignored. I have only seen one other 55-76 and it was nowhere near as nice as this one!

I'm not aware of any other manufacturer than Lakland to have come up with the idea of making a Ray in the 35"/19 mm package. And to top it off, they elected to discontinue the bass. Off course you can go custom but that's different. unfortunately i gotta let this go ... unless trade offers would be accepted.

BTW the paper says alder but the ad says ash for the body. Did you mean alder?

Oh, would you have any soundclip? there are 1000 ways to sound like a stringray. I've never heard a 5 string to sound like a pre EB but that's me. The bass lines are supposed to get you closer to the original than the bartolini.

KJung had a 55-76 with Basslines and he said it was extremely aggressive, moreso than an actual SR5.

I can't take trades because I need the money, unfortunately.

The paper says Alder, so I'm going to assume it's Alder. It looks like the paper was from Lakland.

It's the Lakland preamp, bass/mid/treble with selectable mid frequency via dip switches behind the rear cover.
