Inspired by Chef and Iotanet, here is my Lakland 5501 offering. Mint condition, Natural with a maple fretboard, pics are coming.

The Modda-hot-rod-ness:

Bartolini MK5 pickups - These things kill, you can't compare these to the stock pickups, the clarity is far superior.

Audere Classic 4 band preamp - Volume, Bass/treble stacked, Mids, Mid high, Balance.

Just had a set up with a new set of Fender Super Bass strings. This is a in your face funk machine with taste.

850 Shipped in the continental U.S.

Not interested in another bass at the moment, but I am looking for a Marcus Retro, or a J retro for a Marcus Miller V plus cash.

Also, This is a long shot on this forum, but possibly interested in a Yamaha WX5 with VL70m included.

(save yourself a google search its not a bass u don't know about, LOL, LOL !!)

Let's just be honest- those photos suck.

But I've had these basses before, and basses with those mods, and DAMN! These basses are amazing, and at this price, this shouldn't be here that long.

I've been getting PM offers to part this bass out. That would be a a shame but I'm willing to entertain it.

The only reason this bass is being sold is because its 35" scale. If I wasn't playing the saxophone already it wouldn't matter but hands/wrists know the difference with all the time I put in on my horn.

Here are 2 scenarios:

Scenario 1
I've already had 2 offers for the MK5 Bartolini pickups. 150 plus shipping in the continental U.S.

Audere classic 4 band preamp 100.00 shipping included

Lakland 5501 stock electronics $600.00.

Need at least a bass buyer and a pickup buyer simultaneously, I can always use the Audere later.

Scenario 2

I will put the stock pickups back in and leave the Audere preamp. $700.00 shipping included in the continental. The bass sounded great like this but the MK5's took it over the top. Still better than most basses out there and you can always upgrade the pickups later. You probably won't though.

Need a bass buyer and a pickup buyer simultaneously.

I would rather sell the bass like it is and I don't want somebody to come along and wish I wouldn't have parted it out. If 2 people are interested at once everybody is happy.
