FS Lakland DJ4 Nat/Maple/Block Inlays Lightweight

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I'm looking to sell my Lakland DJ 4 string to fund some other gear. Really nice example of the popular natural finish, maple neck with block inlays version. Great feel and tone plus it's lightweight, about 8.5lbs. It's in mint condition save for a hairline neck joint crack and pickguard swirling. Plek'd from the factory, includes OHSC. Looking for $900 shipped/US.

They're the stock Lakland pickups, which I believe are Aero's.

These pickups are actually the Lakland/Hanson pickups (based on the age etc).

8.5 lbs is really light for a DJ!

I have played several of these basses (in this exact set up) and they are really nice!

@ TS

You can identify the type of pickups that are in the bass by popping just one of them out: If the lead wires are white and black, it's the older Aero pups; if the lead wires are either red and black or green and black, it's the newer Lakland pups.

should the small crack in the neck be a concern? Issues down the road?

Looks like it's just in the finish.

Hi, the crack is not a concern, just a common hairline neck joint finish crack.

Nice!! If this was a 5-string, I'd be overwhelmed with GAS!!!

Would you pop the 3 screws loose on the control plate, and see what color the pickup wires are from there?

Willing to do any trades? 5-stringy perhaps?

The pickups leads are red/black and green/black which should make them the newer lakland pickups. At any rate they sound really good.

Not looking for any trades at this point, thanks.
