Up for your consideration is a 2002 Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub with a Darkstar pickup professionally installed, and a factory jazz taper neck...which is basically a Joe Osborn neck with a 1.5" nut.
It has a terrific sunburst finish, rosewood board, some pretty wood on the back of the neck (see the pics below) and the difficult to find Darkstar installed in the P location, same place as Lakland used to install theirs! I just bought this bass back in June and had the Darkstar installed, I always wanted a bass like John Stirratt from Wilco...
...and it is a fabulous bass. But, when I reach for a bass to play, it's always my '73 P that gets the call. So, I want someone else to enjoy this beauty.
I had a great luthier, Mark Cigainero in Fort Worth install the Darkstar and make a new tort pickguard for it. He routed the body for the larger pickup, gave room for the poles to be adjusted, sprayed the cavity to shield it, and did a fantastic job, as the pictures show. It weighs right at 9 lbs, and it has Sadowsky flats on it, which sound freaking fantastic with the Darkstar.
Overall, it's in great shape for a 10+ year old bass, there's some minor scratches as you would expect, but there's only two that would photograph, one is on the back and not too bad, and two small indentations on the neck around the third fret, but they are cosmetic and I've never noticed them with my hand when playing. As always, I want to disclose the condition 100%! It will come in the same case I got with it, a tweed G&G Fender case (pics below.) I'm asking $1350 shipped.
Please, no trades, unless you have an original 1969 Fender Jazz! Shipping is to the lower 48 only, and sorry guys, but no international shipping.
Here is a "before" pic:
