FS: Lakland Skyline JO5 Joe Osborn 5 with Bartolini pups/preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
***SOLD**** FS: 2002 Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn 5 JO5 in natural with maple fingerboard. s/n 020900xx.
This is a Skyline bass, however somewhere down the line someone removed the skyline decal to make it appear to be a USA model.

This bass is outfitted with some non-typical Lakland features…Bartolini 57J pickups and NTMB 918 preamp. Controls are set up as Volume (push/pull preamp bypass), Blend, Mid (push/pull frequency), Bass/Treble stacked pot.

Bass has hipshot tuners, and the famous Lakland massive bridge. (19mm spacing at bridge). Weight = approximately 9.5lbs (on my semi accurate bathroom scale). Currently strung through body with Lakland Formula GB Nickel RW, 45/128 strings. Bass currently fitted with black pickguard, but original white one will be included as well.

Control cavity is shielded (conductive paint) and cover is copper foiled. Bass is very quiet- and simply sounds great. There is really nothing wrong with it. Neck is fantastic: action set on the low side- my personal preference.

No dents/dings to mention there are 2 small black line marks and another small whiteish blemish, all on the back side (beneath the finish coat)- Must be from during manufacturing they’re hardly noticeable, and difficult to photograph. All in all, I’d call it fantastic condition.

This is being sold solely because it is the last 35” scale bass in my arsenal- and I simply prefer 34”ers. It has a incredible neck and is one of the best looking basses I've ever owned (subjective- yes, but I really love the look, feel and sound of this bass). If someone loves Lakland JO5s, but likes active electronics too- this is your chance.

Asking $999 Shipped (US only) OBO. Paypal OK- and preferred.
Bass comes with an new generic Guardian CG020B hardshell case for protection during shipping ($75 value).

How does the Joe Osborn necks compare, (I'm talking size, width, etc,.) with other Lakland Skyline models.

I'm not saying NO trades- but I would much rather sell it at this time. If it doesnt sell, I will entertain trades. (Or if a particular trade is simply irresistable.)
As for the neck- I believe BuffaloBass is correct. AFAIK same neck.
No buzzing - even with fairly low action set.
