OK, new roof is paid off, time to get back in the game of expensive basses!

This is an unreal jazz bass. Swamp ash body, fralin single coil pickups, and whomever plays it immediately comments on the comfort and quality of the neck.

It nails the jazz bass sound to an amazing extent; it's been a long time since I've played a Fender that did it this well, and I can post some clips to demonstrate it if you want.

Since purchasing it in May, I've had the shielding/grounding improved so now it is quiet as a mouse.

$825 shipped CONUS w/HSC

I would agree with Jeremy!

I own 2 JO5s (1X CHisonics and 1X fretless) and I love the sound that they have...

this one looks killer and is at a decent price...
bumpage!

How heavy is the bass? How old is it? Where was it made?

Interested in trading (plus cash) for a sweet early USA Lakland JO4?

I don't know how old, but I'm not the original owner. Unfortunately, I don't own a scale, but the bass is noticeably heavier than a sadowsky metro. Metro, though, are quite light, and I found that this bass is so nicely balanced that it doesn't seem heavy when it's strapped on. I'll check whether it's Korean or Indonesian when I go to my studio tomorrow.

As for trades....lord knows I'm a sucker for that. But, I just today paid for the bass replacing this one (it's a fiver) so I can't entertain offers.

Thanks, I agree! I'm a sucker for black/tort basses.

This JO4 is Korean, and here's a brief sound clip. Both pickups full on, Aguilar Tonehammer-->EA Doubler-->Bergantino HT115.

I can't buy two Lakland basses in the same week, but I can bump this one hoping that someone else buys it so that I don't have to next week.
