I have my eye on a new Roscoe so… I’m selling my 1999 Lakland USA 4-94, serial #414. The bass is a beautiful trans red color, has an Ash body, a Rosewood fretboard and Bartolini pickups. It also comes with the original hard case. This one weighs in at 8.5 lbs on my digital bath scale. The neck is straight, frets are great condition, electronics’ are dead quiet and the Bartolini pickups make this bass’s sound have that older Lakland warmth to it.
I am very meticulous about my gear and in my honest opinion this Lakland is a player’s bass. This does not mean that the bass was not taken care of, it has been, but if you’re looking for one that’s in pristine condition, this isn’t for you. The bass has general play wear (see pictures below), there’s a chip where the body is routed for truss rod access, a very small crack in the clear coat on the side of the neck pocket and a ding in the fretboard about 1/4” long (the size of a fingernail) at the 14th fret (this does not affect playability at all). I would rate this bass and case a true 8 out of 10. This has been my main gigging bass since I purchased it from another TB’er a year ago, you can go have fun and sound killer without worrying about it.
SOLD Price drop $1500 $1650 shipped to anywhere in the CONUS, no international sales, PayPal accepted. Local pickup is also available.
I took photos both indoors and outdoors to try to capture the true color of the bass.
Thanks for looking!
