Rare late 70's Spector SB-1 lined fretless bass. I believe it was fretted at one point, but not 100% sure. It is lined with abalone and was done very well. Never had a lined fretless with abalone, but it works REALLY well, especially at darker gigs. Very good condition for its age, the most significant thing to note is a couple inches at the seam by the bridge where the body and center piece has come apart as the wood dried out. My luthier inspected and said nothing structural at all and probably happened a long while ago. He said it could be filled, but isn't necessary. Little bit of wear on the headstock but no major nicks, dings, buckle wear, etc...it really is clean for 30 + years old. Single passive Dimarzio pickup, volume and tone, not sure what the switch does, maybe series/parrallel, it does fatten the tone. Really warm and organic tone, plays great had my luthier set it up. believe body is walnut and center piece is maple. Surprisingly light also, I would guess 9lb range, definately not heavy. Comes with NOHSC (only 1 latch works, more of a case for shipping, but it is decent). $1,000 shipped via PayPal, good price for a rare bass in very good shape. Prefer no trades, if I did consider it would be for amp/pedal gear, but prefer cash. Thanks |
