FS: LeCompte BDC-4

LeCompte BDC-4

NOTE: Due to an extremely moronic move on my part the original neck received irreparable damage. This DID NOT affect the body IN ANY WAY. Bud agreed to help me out and refitted the body with a new neck for a discounted price. However, the frets are unfinished (they stick out on the sides of the fretboard and may not have been leveled), the headstock finish is somewhat strange, and the LeCompte emblem was not adhered very well (I suppose this is the price I paid for damaging a hand made bass and getting the neck at a discounted price).

ADDENDUM: The neck seems to have some warping (see pictures below), so I'm selling as if it's just a body w/ electronics (neck factors into shipping costs).

The body is VERY clean. Has less than 10 hours playtime on it (this bass spent most of its life in a gig bag, on a guitar rack, in my bedroom closet).
Audere Pre-Amp
I THINK the pickups are Kent Armstrong Lipstick P'ups
Discontinued Body shape

I paid $1500 new.

$375 shipped (continental U.S.) o.b.o.

I know this is a unique situation for a custom bass, so if you're interested shoot me an offer.

If you're near Fort Wayne come try it out and see what you think.

I accept Paypal and money order.

The only trades I would consider are for a TENOR saxophone (I can add cash).

What do those lipstick pups sound like? Any clips of this bass or others that have them?
Thanks

I'll see if I can make some recordings later.

Here are pics of the neck to show the warping (sorry for the poor quality):

This side is almost totally flat (perhaps a little back bow):

This side has some relief starting around the 5th/6th fret:

If this doesn't garner much interest soon, then I'm going to gut it and sell the pre-amp, p'ups, bridge, tuners, and body separately (all of these are BARELY used).
