FS Leduc Custom Shop Masterpiece 6 string

I'm not a 6-stringer or a 5-string guy. It's time this went to someone that can actually play it.

May 2003 Custom Shop, here are a few words from an email from Christophe about this bass:

"Neck is Canadian maple, body is ash, and fretboard is Para rosewood.
Electronics and pickups are Leduc, it features a hum-canceling system (phantom coil ).
The MP bass model is design to provide rather classical tone, in the Jazz Bass style, but with a better low end (means more fundamentals than the Jazz Bass). This instrument doesn't give all at the first trial !
After years, all the users tell they are more and more addicted to it!"

Has a couple nicks and scrapes, by no means mint, but still in pretty sweet shape. I will thoroughly detail all imperfections at some point, just trying to get it posted now. Comes with a hardshell case I got at Sam Ash that fits it like a glove, absolutely no neck movement, I went back and forth between there and the Guitar Center neck door and tried out literally every case they had. Has black straplocks(Dunlop), and I'll toss in a thick/wide leather strap with their ends. Also has a new set of DR 45 gauge Lo-Riders on.

These are really cool basses.
I have a Leduc Maurad, but it appears to have the same pre and pickups as this one.

I wrote a detailed review here:

All of that info is here:

http://pagesperso-orange.fr/leduc/oldsite/Gb/index.htm

You can also adjust the spacing at the bridge.

Weight?

He must be better than any luthier on earth if he can get all of his basses to weigh exactly 4.6 Kg (10.12lbs) as the website has listed.

Leduc builds awesome basses second to none he is just not well known to some. Best, lightest, most resonant 6 string fretless bass I ever played in 35 years was a Leduc. I still dream of that bass and was a fool for not buying it in 1992

It is the best 6 string I've ever played, and I would love to trade it for a Leduc 4 string

Someone almost bought it but decided not to since it can only stretch out to 18.8mm and not 19

Man, I'm sitting here with one of the best 6-string basses in the world and can't get rid of it for a 1/3 of it's cost. 4 string trades? Lightweight amps or speakers? Vintage or boutique pedals?
