FS - Leduc Maurad

This is a very unique and hard to find bass from the French luthier. It has a 35" scale headless design, which is extremely stable, light, and playable.

I am 99% sure the string space is 19mm (i can double check later).
I will have to get back to you on the weight as well, but I consider this a lightweight bass.

Thanks,
Jordan

New pictures added, and a slideshow link is at the bottom of the first post for more pics.
This bass has been played, and it has a few marks to show. I tried to capture them in these photos.
But overall, it still has quite a remarkable presence.

Thanks... Just curious how the strings are anchored, the truss rod design, etc. Is there dual truss rods on this like Christophe's Logabass?

No, the Maurad has a single truss rod.

It is much easier and faster to change strings on this bass than with a normal bass, and it uses regular strings. You slightly detune the string, then release the string at the top (head) with an allenwrench, at which point the string pulls out easily. Then you loosen the tuner a few more turns which allows you to pull out the ball end of the string.
Put the new string ball end in, and tighten the tuner a few winds. Then thread the string through the head and pull it until the string is taught. Tighten the allen wrench, cut the excess string, and then tune the string. Done.
The nice thing is that you don't have to manually wind a lot of excess string. You just pull it taught, and all that is left to do is clamp it, and then tune the note.

I can change all 5 strings in a matter of minutes.

It measures 1 3/4" at the nut and 3" at the 24th fret.

According to the bathroom scale, this bass weighs roughly 7-8lbs.

What a wonderful bass... If I only had the cash.

Here's a website with all the specs (in metric):

I would still appreciate a close up of the front and back of headstock to see how the string anchor mechanism works.

Someone buy this please... seeing this for sale is torturing me!

Here are some pictures of the front and back of the headstock so you can see the string anchoring mechanism:

You push the strings through from the front through to the back, and then you lock them with an allen wrench and cut off the remaining string. Voila!

It is amazing how fast you can change the strings when you don't have to wind them all the way before tuning.

I should also add that the truss rod is behind the square panel on the back of the headstock.

The Logabass are just designed by Christophe but made by Sanox and the Leduc are really really better of the Logabass... nothing Logabass is crossed in Christophe workshop. I have 5 Logabass and 3 Leduc (perhaps soon 4 )
the system of the head is really different, on the Leduc the strings cross the head and settles behind

this is my Modern 6:

For me the Leduc are the best bass of the world (and I have play on Fodera, Fbass, MTD, Warrior, Dingwall, Warwick, Spector and many other...)
I have also a great Sei bass Flamboyant but I prefer the neck profil of the Leduc.

Wow, it looks just like the Maurad, only with a maple neck! Very cool looking!

the design of the Modern is lightly different of the Maurad and my body is in bubinga ( bubinga has 150 years old and the maple 100years old...) Leduc use only wood who has minimum 80 years old. He has a furious stock of very old wood. I'm French and I know personnaly Christophe

The Paddouck neck (or in France bois de corail) has the same sound property of the maple but it is more stable for the hydrometric phenomenon (I don't know if it's the good word in english), it's the advantage of the Maurad...
