This is a righty DeArmond (Guild) Starfire bass that I converted to a lefty. I don't like flipping basses but this one's all around symmetrical body shape made it easy. I flipped the strings, bypassed and removed the controls (save the pickup selector) and moved the input jack to the "lefty" side of the bass. This bass comes with the original hardshell DeArmond case.
The bass is overall in very good shape, but obviously the flip to lefty has modded the bass. It plays and sounds great, but I just can't get past the short scale. My ham handed bass playing requires a 34" or greater scale length. Here's the southpaw's chance to get that coveted Darkstar convertible bass plus show your love of the band Converge as per the sticker I've kindly used to cover the leftover control holes. These basses are going for over $700 on ebay these days. I'll take $550 plus shipping for this bass. I've attached pics here but if you want to see bigger pics email me. |

In Montana they have signs over bars that say,"Before engaging your mouth, make sure your mind is in gear!"

No, that's the original bridge. The bass set up fine with the original bridge so there was no need to replace it. |

You'd only need to get a new nut on the bass and wire the controls back up. 10 minutes with a soldering iron and the electronics are back to being righty.
Sorry, I don't have a pic of the input jack. It looks the same as it did when it was righty, and I put a small square of electrical tape over the extra hole. if you converted it back to a righty the only telltale sign of it being lefty would be the extra input jack hole, which is pretty easy to cover. |
