Up for sale is a lotus headless bass, licensed by Steinberger. Trans Red finish, with P/J style EMG Pickups. Comes with a pelican case (about $200 new), about 30 strings of various sizes and manufacturers, all roundwound.
So, the bass was produced in the mid-80s, as far as I've been able to tell. Has been well played by myself and those before me. It's pretty beat up, finish dings all over it. Doesn't look like any are through the finish, and the biggest concentration is in the back. Neck plays well, no damage to the neck that effects play. Action is a solid medium, but I've never tried to get it any lower. Sounds great with the EMGs, plays great. No issues other than cosmetic.
I'm looking for 500 shipped CONUS. Price negotiable.
Would do 400 shipped without the pelican case.
Paypal greatly preferred.
Would do trades, but you'll really have to tickle my fancy. I'm looking to pick up an Acme Low B-4, 8 ohm. Feel free to run anything by me, especially any fender style bass with a natural or wood binding, but I'd much prefer money.

Also, forgot to mention, I had to rout the control cavity a bit larger, and make a cover for it, to accommodate for active pickups.

You can't tell me no one's interested in this oddity?

Bump, fools.

All the best!

I'd probably get more just selling the Steinberger tuning system and the EMGs seperately, and use the rest for firewood. It's a shame, though. It's a great bass. Cheap, sure, but light, a great player, plenty of mojo, and I'd hate to see it dismantled.
You say it "goes" for less, but despite all my looking, I can't find a single one beside my own on the market. I look at it's individual values, and not it's "market price" and I come out at significantly more than 250. If someone thinks it's worth much less then that, send me an offer. Otherwise, thanks for the bump.
