FS: Lull T4, Lakland USA Glaub, G&L USA SB-1

Sign in to disble this ad
All prices include shipping in the 48 states only. I'll ship elsewhere but you pay the extra.

The ONLY trades I'm interested in are:
-Sadowsky NYC Vintage P4, non-maple board, chunky P width neck, 8.0 lbs or less, no PJ
-17th Street 5 string
-MusicMan Bongo HH 5 string, no piezo, I really want one with the solid rosewood neck
-Mike Lull P4 with J width neck, 8.0 lbs or less, no PJ

First is a rare one - a Mike Lull T4 Thunderbird bass. I've only seen one other for sale used, this is one of the first few made and it's a beauty. The condition is super clean, just 3 very minor finish dings - one at the truss rod cutout, one by the control cavity, and a tiny shallow ding on the body edge where your arm crosses the body. See pics below, couldn't get a pic of the tiny edge ding. The neck is J width (1.5" wide) and has a gorgeous figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Mike chose a really nice board for this bass. Weight is light at 8.7 lbs, comes in the original fancy black tolex hardcase.
I absolutely love the tone of this bass but the ergonomics aren't my thing. I visited Mike in his shop yesterday and ordered one of his PT-2 basses so I can have this tone but a P bass feel, so I need to sell this to help pay for the new one!

Price is $2550 SOLD

Next is a very nice 2005 USA Lakland Bob Glaub 4 string. This is a really great bass but it hasn't gotten any playing time since I picked up a USA Glaub with the ChiSonic pickup. The alder body has a really nice burst finish, it's clean on the front but there's light worming on the back, probably from a belt buckle. Nothing through the finish, it's all minor. The neck is P width (1.75") and very nice, beatiful rosewood board with the birdseye maple dots and the frets have just a slight bit of wear. The pickup is the factory Fralin. Comes in a clean brown tolex Fender-style hardcase. There's a very slight cigarette smoke smell to the bass and case. The chrome pickup cover is included in the case. Weight is light at 8.8 lbs.

Price is $1550 SOLD

Last is a brand new G&L SB-1. This is a USA model and was built early this month. I bought two and I'm keeping the other one because the neck is chunkier and it's a rare color. The body is finished in G&L's beautiful Lake Placid Blue metallic, it's a bit lighter blue than Fender's LPB, somewhere between LPB and Ice Blue Metallic. It's closest to the lowest pic below in color.
The neck is P width (1-11/16" wide) and has a nice rosewood fingerboard with a vintage 7.25" radius. It feels a lot like a vintage Fender for shape and has a nice round back contour. Everything is in new condition since it just came from the factory. Weight is perfect at 8.7 lbs, comes in G&L's fancy badged G&G black tolex hardcase.

Price is $800 SOLD

If you hadn't gone to the wide neck dark side I'd find the cash for the SB1. But skinny-neck wimp that I am, I'm saved.

That SB1 is gorgeous, I just wish I liked "colored" basses. For some reason I'd rather have wood tones instead of reds, blues, greens, etc. Pretty superficial, isn't it? I'm not playing the color...

Man, I want that T4, and I even happen to have a Lull PJ4 (black/black), but I just can't bear to part with that one!

Maybe in about 6 months time I'd take this off your hands in a heartbeat! Somethings tells me this will find a good home well before then though...

If that was a T5, we'd be talking.
