For Sale- 1982 Olympic White w/ rosewood fretboard, tortoise shell pickguard. This bass is an original "Road Worn" player's bass with the finish worn through in some areas and vintage Seymour Duncan active pickups. Numerous chips and dings, but this bass still plays like butta. The bass has been modified by adding a Jazz bridge pickup that matches the split-Precision counterparts and a Baddass bridge and bridge cover. My bathroom scale puts it a little over 9 lbs. The pickups have 3 small micro switches that allow the player to shape the warm, rich tone this old bass has. The sale includes a 70s Fender hardcase w/ Fender emblem and a MIM Jazz bass neck. $600.00 Buyer to pay only actual shipping costs through my commercial FedEx account. Shipping receipt will be included with bass.
Additional photos available upon request.
Thanks,
Wiley

If the body was in 3-tone sunburst, it would look just like Carl Radle's '65 P-bass with the same classic blocked-and-bound jazz bass neck. His didn't have the jazz pickup either but I LOVE the P-bass with the blocked jazz neck. I currently play a 2004 Fender American Standard Precision Bass with a 2004 Fender American Jazz Bass neck (rosewood). LOVE IT.
I also have a vintage 1959 Precision bass with a 30-year-old white refinish on the body and I pulled the neck on it and mounted my 2002 Fender 'Custom Shop' '64 Vintage Jazz Bass neck on it. DREAM MACHINE !!

The neck is not bound and blocked as earlier mentioned. It has the pearl laminate blocks added that I purchased here on TB. It looks pretty neat and there is no difference in the feel of the neck that I have noticed.

Hunting for a bass becomes a REAL PITA when every ad you look at turns out to be sold - this is number three in a row in this particular hunt.
Just like with littering, it's true that *your* particular Styrofoam cup isn't a particularly big deal - but when everyone thinks the same thing... |
