FS MIA Peavey G Bass

Howdy Folks,

I got this recently to try a graphite neck and decided I like the graphite neck, however this pickup plays like those Bartolini pickups they put in Tobias basses (the Music Man looking one) and this sounds too close to it, just not my cup of tea.

I created a thread about how the truss nut was too hard to access. I called Peavey and spoke to Steve in support and he said just simply take a dremel and remove what it blocking the wrench and it wouldn't hurt a thing. Well I did it and used a black sharpie to "clean up" the inside of the truss access and it works as good as new. I am guessing it came like that from the factory because the inside of the truss nut was dusty with no signs of access but the top look liked someone had the same problem I did and couldn't get the hex wrench in and gave up. I mention this because I am an honest seller. I will also mention the nut IS NOT stripped and I will include a wrench that fits it. It needs a another sharpie coat as you can see in the below photos. I will do it before I ship.

Rumor was these necks were made by Modulus. I have no clue, if you are a Peavey guru chime in.

There a couple nicks here and there on the body but impossible to photograph due to the finish. None of them go down past the poly. The neck a quarter inch scratch on the g string side 8th fret that isn't deep at all on the fretboard and doesn't affect playability. Near the same spot up around 11 and 12 is a tiny fretboard ding and another poly chip on the side of the fretboard. Other than that the neck is in good shape.

The electronics were a little scratchy on the mid control but simply twisting it back and forth cleaned it up. I was going to use pot cleaner but decided it was fine.

Overall I would rate this bass around an 8 out of 10. Maybe a 7.5 for the uber picky people. Just because of what was mentioned.

The neck is jazz width but the string spacing seems a bit tighter. The Pao Ferro fretboard looks amazing as well as the way it sparkles in light. This is a really well made bass. Basswood body with the 18 volt VFL Peavey pickup.

After I got access to the truss rod I got the action pretty low and it plays like a dream.

This includes no case but will be wrapped really well when shipped.

SOLD!!!!!

Thanks man. I was actually just noodling around with it and found that if I keep the bass and mid flat and almost turn the treble off it cops a really cool p tone and plays faster than a jazz. P tone isn't muddy at all. That neck makes every single note speak.

I might give it the rest of the day then sell my P instead
